FCW Presents Last Resort
‘Simply the Best’ Matt Kraven vs. Karl Storm
‘Simply the Best’ Matt Kraven vs. Karl Storm
Karl Storm looked great in his pay per view debut, but the same couldn’t be said about the rather new Matt Kraven. Although he looked good he was out-wrestled by Karl Storm for the most part, having to play the defensive style throughout this one.
After a long fought battle, however, it looked like Kraven was finding his game, pulling out some good moves that were new to the FCW fans. Although Kraven was on a role it wasn’t enough to best Storm who surprisingly continued to fight back, not giving up. Eventually Storm’s durability and resilience proved to much for Matt Kraven after another big kick-out Storm caught the exhausted Matt Kraven with the ‘Snap Robinson’ for the big pay per view win.
Winner: Karl Storm via pinfall at 11:12
FCW Intercontinental Championship Match
Seifer Blacke (c) vs. Evan Bourne
Both these men looked very good, but the current Intercontinental Champion clearly had the upper hand. Blacke pulled out a series of big moves in his first ever title defense, leaving Evan Bourne shocked and down, but he proved he had more in him as he continuously kicked out, just able to fight off the loss.
Evan Bourne did mount some good offense, possibly looking at his best so far in FCW. Blacke was caught off guard at moments, allowing Bourne to take control, but the champion battled back, taking control of the match once again. Eventually Evan Bourne couldn’t counter all the moves, leaving him beaten and tired, and un-expecting of the ‘No Mercy’ kick, giving Seifer the big win.
Winner and still FCW Intercontinental Champion: Seifer Blacke via pinfall at 10:34
I Quit Match
Kazarian vs. Wizz Kidd
Kazarian vs. Wizz Kidd
The final encounter between Kazarian and the Television champion was one that had been building since week one in FCW, these two have been at each others throats from the beginning and this served as the culmination. Unfortunately for the fans only one of the men in this match earned the title of superstar. It was a pity that Kazarian was nothing more than a rag doll thrown around the ring by the Television Champion.
Kazarian suffered through unimaginable torment at the hands of the strangely vicious Wizz Kidd, the aggressive behavior was necessary in this style of match. In the end Kazarian found his head lodged in between the ring steps and the post, faced with the devastating blow he whimpered into the microphone the humiliating words of defeat “I Quit.”
Winner: Wizz Kidd @ 13:02
Grudge Match
Mr. Kennedy vs. John Cena
Mr. Kennedy vs. John Cena
This match between the two rivals was hyped up quite a bit, but unfortunately it didn’t exactly live up to expectations. John Cena continued to have cold feet, not looking good in this one whilst Kennedy was better, but still not at his best.
The two men went at it in more of an all out brawl then anything as they exchanged blows for a lengthily amount of time. Kennedy eventually took the upper hand and didn’t let up, dominating Cena throughout the rest of the match, not pleasing the crowd. The General Manager of Anarchy showed little ring rust as he went on to get the win over his rival after nailing the Mic Check.
Winner: Mr. Kennedy via pinfall at 8:27
No Rope Barbed Wire Match
Luminous Robin vs. Raven
Funnily enough, despite both participants being geared to tear each other limb from limb, as soon as Raven's music hits the sound speakers, both he and Robin appear together. The camera centres on the two of them, somewhere in the middle of the crowd, where they've apparently been for quite some time, not noticed due to the hoods of their jackets, which they're quick to pull down. Raven wags his finger for Robin to follow, and like an obediant lapdog, he does so, following his mentor up and over the crowd barrier into the ring. Robin seems to wait for permission to head to his corner, which Raven eventually provides, in the form of shoving Robin in the back of the head. Raven slumps down into the corner and Robin nervously fidgets with his hands, whilst the ropes are replaced with their more spiny counterpart.
As soon as the bell rings, whatever confidence Robin was missing suddenly springs back. Both participants meet in the middle of the ring, throwing right hands at one another in sequence, before eventually the power advantage begins to turn in Raven's favour. One big hand rocks Robin, sending him staggering backwards, before he realises what the ropes are made out of, and instead jumps straight back in, nailing Raven in the face with a leaping forearm and putting the pace of the match back at a relatively even footing. The brawl continues before fatigue sets in, and Raven is forced to ram a knee into Robin's gut. Bending over, Robin soon finds a second knee colliding with his face, bringing him down to the mat.
Robin tries to pull himself back up to his feet, which Raven is quick to assist with. He goes to whip Robin into the ropes, who in turn is quick to stop himself, baseball sliding down to the mat. Raven runs up, stomping his protoge in the back numerous times, picking him up by the scruff of the neck and instead trying to grind Robin's head into the middle rope of the barbed wire, but he's having none of it, holding back long enough to throw a back elbow, catching Raven in the mouth and staggering him back. Robin slides through to the outside, trying to regain his bearings, and Raven is quick to follow him. As soon as Robin spots him, he spins with a right hand, only for Raven to parry it, and nail Robin with a right hand of his own, taking him by the head and slamming it into the ring apron. Robin staggers away, and Raven spots the first weapon of the match; a steel chair. He picks it up, grinning at it, before rattling the frame against Robin's spine.
A second shot sends Robin on the run, clambering back under the bottom rope and scraping his arm lightly against the barbs in the process. Raven spots his chance, throwing up the ring apron and seeing whatever he can get from underneath. The results are promising, and in addition to the chair, Raven rolls in a table, a steel trashcan with lid, and a mysterious burlap sack, which he leaves lying at the turnbuckle. He rolls in, being sure to get his hands back on the chair, when Robin dashes, repeatedly stomping on Raven's back. When he realises that's not going to keep Raven down, instead he takes him by the hair and plants kicks straight into his face, Kawada style. Raven staggers back into the corner, and Robin goes straight for a trash can lid, dashing in and smacking his mentor in the head with it before he gets a chance to block, and then a second time, and a third. Raven drops down to one knee, and Robin just stares at the destroyed aluminum lid, trying to figure out how Raven is still conscious.
His moment of consideration costs him, as Raven is quick to return fire with a low blow. All his stamina immediately drained, Robin drops to the mat. Raven checks his forehead for any wounds, and seems slightly disappointed to have not found any. He takes the chair, setting it up in the middle of the ring, dragging Robin in by the arm to compensate for the lack of rope momentum, and delivers his signature drop toe hold, sending Robin head first into the steel. Raven glances at Robin, writhing around on the mat, and can barely hide his look of disappointment, picking Robin up and locking him up for the DDT, only for Robin to suddenly spring to life, charging forward and ramming Raven into the turnbuckles, ramming his shoulder again and again into his midsection, before lifting Raven up to the top.
Robin ascends after, trying to hook Raven up for a superplex, only for a shot to the kidneys and a shove to send him back down to the mat. Raven tries to secure his footing, going for a high risk move, only for Robin to leap up, sweeping out Raven's legs with an enziguri, causing the ECW veteran to shoot forward, landing groin first across the barbed wire. Raven cries out in agony, trying to straddle himself off the ropes with his hands, only managing to cause more damage to himself. The crowd gasp in sympathy, and Robin himself seems more than happy to oblige in helping Raven off the top, taking steel chair and absolutely cracking Raven in the skull with it. Raven drops, lifelessly, off the ropes, his right leg suspended in the air where the barbs still have his jeans caught, and a wound opened up on his forehead. Robin glances down, seeming to be considering making a cover, but eventually decides against it.
Instead, he takes the trashcan, dragging Raven away and sliding the can over his torso. Slowly and shakily, Robin begins to ascend the ropes, preparing to finish the match once and for all, unaware that Raven is already starting to slide out. As soon as Robin's in full moonsault, it's already too late, and all he ends up eating is a chest full of trashcan and nothing more. Both men are down and reeling, with Raven slightly having the edge. The veteran crawls over to the table, setting it up in the corner and rushing over to Robin. One kick to the stomach, one hoist, one sprint and one toss later, and Robin's been put straight through the table with a giant powerbomb. Raven stands, staring down at the broken Robin with an evil smirk - but still, doesn't go for the pin, even though the referee seems to be spurring it.
Raven walks over to the turnbuckle, tugging and yanking on the barbed wire, until eventually it comes loose, and then from the other side. He takes one end, and slowly begins wrapping it around his already bloody hand just as Robin climbs up to his feet. Once he does, a series of jabs to the head begin opening up a number of lacerations in Robin's forehead as barbs meet flesh. Eventually, Raven slips up, and a leg sweep brings him down to one knee. Robin dashes over, taking the other end of the wire and wrapping it around his own fist, an action Raven makes no attempt to stop. The two combatants, both weary and bloody, return to trading blows, just as they did at the start of the match, only this time, it's much bloodier, thanks to the makeshift 'knuckles' made of barbed wire. Once again Raven begins to get an advantage, once he intends to press. Robin tries to back up, but the barbed wire tether means he's easily pulled in, and locked up in a sleeperhold - with Raven draping the barbed wire around his throat, tightening the grip. The metal begins digging into the flesh, and eventually, it cuts.
It's at this point that the referee is finally forced to step in, forcing Raven to break the hold, even though Robin refused to give, ignoring the red ring around the front of his neck. The referee's complaints fall on deaf ears, as Raven simply stomps again and again on the back of Robin's head. Both men's faces are practically crimson at this point, and the rest of their bodies aren't doing much better. Both men have at least one bloody hand, Raven with a bloody thigh, and Robin with a bloody neck and shoulder. Raven walks over, finally taking that burlap sack that he's been wanting to use for so long, and takes it to the middle of the ring, turning it upside down and emptying it: hundreds, if not thousands of thumbtacks fall to the mat.
At this point, the referee is practically pleading for Raven just to finish it, only for Raven to shrug him off, pulling Robin back into a DDT position, only for Robin to fight it with everything he has. The blood provides the perfect lubricant, and as soon as his head is loose, he shoots forward, nailing Raven right in the mouth with a Climax superkick! Only...Raven doesn't fall, and instead just staggers around the ring, dead on his feet. Realising he's not yet done, Robin punts him in the stomach, locking him up and delivering a DDT of his own right into the thumbtacks! The awed crowd immediately shoot into that chant of 'holy shit' we all know and love.
With Raven literally face first in a pile of needles, and Robin rolling around madly and crying out in agony, trying to pull the loose tacks out the back of his own arm and side, the referee looks like he's about to empty the contents of his stomach into the ring. He argues with himself for a while, before finally rearing his hand back to call for a no contest - when he finds himself being stopped by something tugging on his shirt. It's Raven, tacks sticking out of his forehead and all. Needless to say, it looks like something out of a zombie survival movie, which does little to reassure the referee. So, instead, Raven does the next best thing, and drills the referee with a low blow to buy himself some time.
With all three men involved now down, Robin and Raven slowly crawl towards each other in the middle of the ring, trying to prop each other up as they lazily climb up to their feet, only for Raven to suddenly get a second wind out of literally nowhere, finally giving Robin the Raven Effect, right into the tacks! Both men are down, both men are looking like pincushions, and the ring at this point is covered in about as much blood as they are. The crowd, once ravenous (pardon the pun) for the bloodshed - are staring to become eerily quiet, with some even crying for someone to stop the match. Considering there hasn't been a single pinfall attempt, assumedly neither wrestler is in a rush to end it either. Both of them running on literally empty, they slowly but surely crawl up to their feet, not seeming to realize or even care that they're using barbed wire to pull themselves up and further destroying their hands in the process.
With both men on their feet, Raven begins to stagger towards Robin - only to eat another Climax superkick out of nowhere! Raven falls backwards, straight into the barbed wire ropes, and there he hangs, practically unconscious, being sustained by the steel digging into his flesh. Robin stares at him through glazed over eyes, and through instinct alone, charges, diving straight at Raven with a cross body block!
The barbed wire snaps. Both men fall to the outside of the ring, crumpling on the outside, becoming wrapped in the barbed wire like a bloody tumbleweed. The arena falls into an almost stunned silence. A referee runs down, assessing the situation, and if for no reason other than to end it, counts a lightning fast three count based on what he sees. For a time, it seems no one knows what's happening - until Parabola begins playing over the sound speakers, and a few fans of Robin give some half hearted cheers to overshadow the stunned silence of the rest of the arena.
Tool continues to play, as EMT after EMT rushes down to the ring to deal with the carnage.
Winner: Luminous Robin by Pinfall at 10:23.
FCW Undisputed World Heavyweight Championship
Double Jeopardy Match
Alexander Parise(c) vs. Jimmy Gimmick // Edge(c) vs. Randy Orton
Double Jeopardy Match
Alexander Parise(c) vs. Jimmy Gimmick // Edge(c) vs. Randy Orton
Since it was announced the Double Jeopardy Match has been the center of attention in FCW, four of the top superstars in the business, three of whom have held a world championships within FCW, two trying to hold on to a championship, and two trying to capture one. When the bell rang the four men stood around the ring no one wanting to move first, the tension could have been cut with a knife. After a moment things snapped and the contest spiraled out of control in a hurry. The enemies Gimmick and Parise tore into each other, Gimmick seeking revenge for Parise’s alleged betrayal and Parise struggling to finally rid himself of Gimmick’s long shadow once and for all. Parise took control of Gimmick early using his superior technical prowess as well as strength to toss his former mentor around the ring. Orton has been after Edge in an effort to reclaim his championship since “The Rated R Superstar” captured it at Scars and Stripes and he made that clear early on assaulting Edge with closed fists and taking the fight to the outside, Edge not to be outdone battled back and the two had theme selves an all out brawl.
The two matches went on back and forth, all four men having earned their place in the main event contest, and despite the fact that none of them are on the fans good side the sold out crowd couldn’t help but cheer. Double Jeopardy was a dangerous test for all, the first man to fall was a champion himself, Edge’s spear attempt proved ill fated as an RKO left Edge sprawled across the canvas unable to escape Randy Orton’s cover, leaving the World Heavyweight Championship still never successfully defended.
Orton lurked in the corner watching as the arch enemies Gimmick and Parise battered each other with all resources available, Gimmick has blood flowing freely from the corner of his mouth as a cut above Parise’s eye had been opened allowing the crimson liquid to trickle down his face. Parise managed to position Gimmick for his trademark piledriver it was then in the eleventh hour that his mentor slipped out and caught him in the “End Game” triangle choke. In the center of the ring there was no where to go, Parise struggled but it was to no avail Gimmick had his rival caught in an inescapable hold. Beside Gimmick Edge had made his way to his hands and knees it was than Randy Orton decided to take it upon himself to finish off the former champion once and for all. Orton charged and threw a punt towards the skull of Edge but the opportunist evaded at the last possible second, unable to stop his momentum the foot of Orton cracked the skull of Jimmy Gimmick.
Gimmick’s hold on Parise fell apart and Alexander ‘The Great’ quickly covered his rival scoring the pinfall much to the shock of Randy Orton and the fans in attendance who cheered the elimination. Stunned at what he’d done Orton tried to follow up his unintentional elimination of Jimmy Gimmick with a punt for Gimmick former partner. Parise ducked out of the way leaving ‘The Legend Killer’ off balance and vulnerable to the Parise Piledriver, with the final blow by Parise Orton crumples to the canvas and the third and final pinfall takes place. The bell rings and Parise has his arm raised amongst his fallen opponents.
Winner and New World Heavyweight Champion Alexander “The Great” Parise via pinfall @ 28:33
The official hands the two World Championships over to Alexander Parise who barely makes it to his feet to grasp them. No sooner has Parise clutched the championships than Edge charges him and nearly splits the newly crowned champion in half with a devastating spear. “The Rated R Superstar” looks down on the carnage and the fans let him hear their thoughts in the form of boos as Last Resort slowly fades off the air.
Thank's to Luminous Robin for writing out his entire match and Mr. Kennedy for writing Kraven/Storm, Blacke/Bourne, and Kennedy/Cena.
