Part VII: A New Dawning, i: Prelude
*The camera slowly fades in, the image; two hands. The hands are rough, yet clean, they slide up the front of a slick suit until each rests on a tie. Pulling the tie tighter and straightening it, the hands move, the camera begins zooming out, revealing the full darkly colored suit, as it pulls further back the face of the man wearing the suit focuses into view.*
"Good evening; ladies, gentlemen, fans of all ages, genders, races, and sexual proclivities. Welcome to the beginning of the end. The answers to all of your questions, who is the FCW Heavyweight champion, everyone will know by the end of tonight. Prepare to witness the sports entertainment extravaganza that is FCW's premiere pay per view... Second Coming!"
*Gimmick's hands fall deliberately to his sides, where he holds them out and looks to the ceiling for a moment. He stands in a dimly lit room, the only light is emitted from a ancient looking antique chandelier, which slowly sways back and forth.*
"I stand here in this prelude to the end which we all anticipate, as time ticks down I intend to address my opponents, but on this final day, in the eleventh hour, what more can be said?"
*Jimmy Gimmick has resumed his position with hands at his side, as he looks now, not to the ceiling but into the camera, his piercing cold gaze directed at the men who stand in his way tonight.*
"I look around FCW and I see everything that any wrestling fan would dream of, the superstars prepare to give the show of a lifetime, but as I see them there is one constant. They all shake. They're all stuttering as they speak. Sweating. Stage fright is kicking in. Butterflies. But not me, not Jimmy Gimmick.
I stand calm and ready to walk along the edge of a razor, to put on a show. We're at the end of the line, the Gimmick-era is ready to begin...
The Poster Boy is gone. Replacing him is the cold heartless bastard who punishes those who oppose him for their Original Sin."
*Gimmick rhymes, as he fluently speaks, directly below the swaying light.*
"John Cena. The name of this alleged superstar holds so much weight in FCW. It arouses a cheer from the audience. Sells t-shirts. Inspires people to make signs. John it must be nice to be worshiped, especially for no cost. Without me John this business could never survive, let alone flourish as it has. I'm the man behind the curtain, The Wizard of Oz, I'm pulling the strings John, I'm doing the work, and you stand in front of the curtain to take the fame."
*Jimmy Gimmick subconsciously begins straightening his tie once more, before sliding his hand through his combed back hair. Gimmick massages his scalp as if to be deep in thought while he stares at the camera.*
"..."
*Gimmick opens his mouth to speak however, a brief pause follows as his mouth hangs open before continuing.*
"So John you beat up Tomko, congrats. And last week you called me out for being 'a snake' as you so elegantly put it. This is where I would usually go through a long-winded response however, you seem to have covered that option as well, by telling me my words are useless. John it is on that point that our differences stem from, you think because you hit the gym thirty-three times a week you're unbeatable. You don't fear the physical challenge I will poise, but the psychological one has left you petrified. The only people who ignore words are those that fear them. You know I can get inside your head if I want to, and that's why right now you're probably in the gym, specifically avoiding this soliloquy of mine."
*With a sigh Jimmy Gimmick shakes his head, and steps away from the camera. He stands in the shadows, his face partially illuminated from the light, and from the half that the camera picks up his trademark grin can be seen.*
"After John Cena who knows who I will be up against, of course as you all know I have a preferred opponent... Randy Orton!"
*Gimmick suddenly bellows the name of "The Legend Killer" through the small room, his single visible eye, filled with fury.*
"Randy you look to me, and tell me I crave acceptance, that I want to prove myself as innovator, you underestimate me as some sort of individual who is longing for fame, a fact you have somehow misinterpreted from my forceful taking of it. Orton you declared that all of your opponents have a glaring weakness while you have none. Randy let me tell you a story, an ancient Greek myth about a man named Achilles, you may be familiar.
When he was born Achilles' mother dipped him into the river Styx, a process by which Achilles' became invincible. Unfortunately, she dipped him into the river by the ankle, which she never put into the water therefore, one part of Achilles remained vulnerable. He grew up to become the greatest warrior the world had ever seen, he was unstoppable and he knew it. It was during his heroic effort while fighting the Trojans however, that an arrow pierced his heel, killing Achilles.
Achilles lived his life thinking he was invincible, now the myth tells us that his heel was his one true weakness. That is a point to which I believe there is room for a slight discrepancy. You see one has to wonder if Achilles didn't know of his invincibility if he would still fought the way he did, selflessly, with nothing to lose. Achilles weakness may have been his famous heel, but when I hear his story the main weakness I see is his arrogance. Randy arrogance, that is what will lead to you seeing exactly what my end game has become."
*Jimmy Gimmick takes one further step back so that his only visible eye is now masked in the shadows, all that remains is his smile, unwavering.*
"You see Orton when juxtaposed with Achilles I can't help but draw on your similarities, not in the strengths however, but the weaknesses. Orton you're belief in you're own invincibility is a carefully orchestrated charade, one which I'm certain even you will lose faith in by the end. And that end Orton... will be at my hands."
*Gimmick than flips a switch in the darkness and the room is illuminated by various lights attached to the ceiling.*
"Now on the eve of my greatest triumph I conclude this address, as I prepare to enter that ring to join the immortals, Randy you're a myth from the past, I am destined to be a legend. A new era is dawning, I suggest to all of you; get ready."
*No sooner was the room illuminated than the lights turned back off leaving Gimmick standing in the dark, in solitude for a moment before the camera fades to black.*
