Requiem Results-07/21/09 Kazarian and Conrad "The Beast" Reavis vs. Rey Mysterio and Lance Copeland This was an unfortunately un-entertaining and slow opener until people started making mistakes, where the match made the change from boring to laughably bad, its highlights were limited to Lance Copeland using a drop toe hold to smash Conrad Reavis’ face off of the ring steps, the angle at which he hit the steps actually prompted blood to squirt from his nose which got a positive reaction from the fans. Less positively received was an instance where in Rey Mysterio found himself caught on the top rope in a precarious position, Kaz took advantage almost knotting his knee amongst the ropes causing Mysterio to cry out in pain. In the matches odd conclusion Kaz and Copeland found themselves collide head on with each other allowing neither man to recover to beat the officials ten count, leaving all four men sprawled across the canvas and in the case of “The Beast” ringside. No Contest @ 8:22 Post match- during the commercial break Rey Mysterio was carted to the back on the stretcher, word is Conrad Reavis suffered a broken nose, and Kaz and Copeland eventually stumbled to the backstage area on their own accord. Matt Hardy vs. X Matt Hardy and X are at it again, the second encounter between these two competitors, and the fans seemed to enjoy themselves. X and Hardy put on quite the show for the fans in the early goings of this fast paced encounter which led to Hardy and X brawling to the outside of the ring where Hardy dropped X with the Side Effect before beating the officials count, X wasn’t so lucky. Winner: Matt Hardy via count out @ 9:03 Matt Kraven vs. Dan Hellman Matt Kraven made his much anticipated debut, after getting as much coverage after his initial signing as almost any superstar in recent memory. There were moments were Dan Hellman seemed poised to spoil Kraven’s debut but it was not to be. Hellman put up a fight at one point it seemed he almost knocked out Kraven with a swift big boot, but the newcomer only seemed to deflect Hellman’s attempts to finish him off with counters. In the end Kraven turned the match in hid favor ending Hellman's spark of offense with the Death Valley Driver, and the man who claims to be “Simply the Best” left Requiem with his first victory. Winner: Matt Kraven via pinfall @ 12:43 Jimmy Gimmick vs. Christian Cage These two high profile arrogant superstars would have been expected to engage in a war of words prior to this contest given their attitudes, but with Cage’s recent absence(despite frequent assurances to the contrary) that wasn’t the case. Instead the only activity involving vocals that “The Instant Classic” took part in was the screaming as Jimmy Gimmick forced him to submit with the “End Game” triangle choke, perhaps sending a message for Last Resort. Winner: Jimmy Gimmick via submission @ 4:04 Champion vs. Champion Alexander Parise vs. Wizz Kidd Both of these championship holding superstars have been on rolls as of late and the one on one meeting between the two showcased more of the same. The fans knew they were in for a treat right from the get go and these two didn’t disappoint. Parise started with control early with a combination of aggression and technical prowess, mixing closed fists with suplexes to keep Wizz Kidd contained. Wizz Kidd turned the tables on his opponent with a spinning wheel kick, with Parise dazed Wizz Kidd looked to be closing in on the potential upset victory lining up the FCW Champion for the Wizz Kick. Wizz Kidd stepped into the kick just a moment to late allowing Parise to evade the finishing blow and nail him with the Parise Piledriver which led him to the pin fall victory. Winner: Alexander “The Great” Parise via pinfall @ 17:21 -----
